On March 13 2011 a video was posted on you tube which clearly showed the shelter staff laughing and joking about killing a kitten. The kitten was then removed from it's crate by means of a catch pole and was pinned down by an employee while the director of the shelter Pat Horan, stood there and watched. Later in the video a female voice can be heard. chanting "kill the kitty","kill the kitty". The video shows no other female in the room other than Pat Horan.
We respectfully ask that all employee's involved in this incident be fired and that charges of animal cruelty be brought up against Pat Horan.
One has to wonder if this is what your shelter staff will do in front on a camera what do they do when the cameras are off??

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. — The acting director of a Long Island animal shelter has been reassigned after a YouTube video surfaced depicting her and other shelter workers mocking a kitten that's to be euthanized.

Hempstead Town spokesman Mike Deery says the acting director, Pat Horan, was removed from her position Monday while officials investigate. He insists the video is at least 17 years old because one of the employees depicted has not worked for the town in that time.

He said Horan, who earns more than $92,000 annually, was not available to comment. He did not know if she had an attorney. She does not face criminal charges.

The video shows employees, including Horan, laughing and making obscene gestures while preparing the kitten to be euthanized.

The shelter is being investigated for alleged abuse by workers.

What would make a person be so evil? And how do you manage to get a gang of them together like that working in the same place? They need to get the prosecutors who went after Michael Vick on her tail.
