Lost Bella Luna overnight

One of my cats, Bella Luna, died in her sleep overnight. We just finished burying her out back.

Bella Luna was about 14 years old, a rescue; she was a 'dilute calico' - light gray (blue), white,light tan, darker tan. One of my friends always called her 'Breadstorm' coz 'she was the colors of rye, wheat, pumpernickel, and white bread'. dwl

It's so hard to loose a critter buddy... and w had 14-y.o. Bella Luna for 12 of her years.

She was one of 3 we got as a group rescue from a hoarder who was jailed. The other two - Jiggs and Alice Cooper, littermate brothers - were the sam age as Bella Luna. Jiggs died of a heart attack a year ago. We still have Mr Alice, but he's so sad looking.

All of our critters <span style="font-style: italic">HATE</span> Halloween. The door bell rings all evening long. Strangers keep coming to the house. We keep dumpinf critters off of our laps to jump up and answer that door bell. Lots of loud noises... and did I say all the children? My animals aren't used to children; I haven't any and none are ever in our house.

It's perhaps unsurprising that Bella Luna chose to leave us the night before all of that horror happened once again.

The trick or treaters sound busy. I haven't had one in decades but I can see where it is unsettling for the fur kids. Is there someplace they can go in the house as not to be disturbed next time? If you turn your lights off will they still come? It doesn't sound like you want them at your house...Sorry again bout your fur baby. I am losing a few this year of old age as well and it sucks.

I miss Bella Luna's intelligent gaze; she always looked into your eyes as if she were talking plainly to you.

sorry for your loss

on Halloween, I put the candy outside with a note, and when it's finished i turn off the lights. One of my cats gets very spooked by the bell constantly ringing (and i hate having to get up all the time).
