Removing Bloodstains From Clothing

Hydrogen Peroxide - pour some on, leave it for a little then wash in COLD water.

Never wash bloodstained fabric in hot water - this will only cement the stain even more.

The sooner the treatment the better the chances of getting all the stain out.

From past experience with this problem (prior to painting and with limited technical resources [img]/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] )... we had used a whisk to remove dust etc from the stipple and then vacuumed (furniture was well covered with plastic) --almost burned out the motor on my vacuum cleaner


recommendation ----> use a heavy duty shop vac designed for this type of heavy grit either after 'whisking' or directly on the ceiling

Discoloured kitchen cupboards (melamine finish)

Spray oven cleaner on the doors, let it sit for a couple minutes, then scrub and wipe with paper towels ----> then wash -rinse and dry with standard cleaning products. (make sure you use newpapers to catch drips from oven cleaner and rubber gloves to protect your hands.... area should be well ventilated as the fumes are very dangerous)

I had to do my spring cleaning and re-arrange my bedroom back in Feb, getting ready for my hip replacement. I wish my truck hadn't been stuck in *** deep snow, but it was, so I just threw everything out my bedroom window that I didn't want anymore, including a dresser , I broke it into pieces. Just last week I drove to the spot and loaded it all up in the truck.

So, IM's spring cleaning tip of the week is....

It's much easier to just park your truck under whichever room's window you are cleaning, and just throw the things out the window directly into the truck. It save alot of wear and tear on the body, you don't have to carry it anywhere!

PS...In this process, it is much better to wait until it actually IS Spring, or you won't be able to get the truck arund, so you'll end up picking it up again...

They're on the walls inside the closet. Screw came loose and left the shelf too much of a free agent.

Marks were made by shelfing unit (metal).

a joke mi mek, but yes I actually DO this....

I did it when I was gettting ready for my surgery. I threw about half a truckload out the window, into the snow below, and had to wait to get my truck outa the snowbank LOL!

I stopped at the dollar store and got a pack of leaf bags - 5 units fi one deggeh deggeh dallah.

These worked well and for good measure I used two for each comforter. That way it's easy to see what's inside without having to open the bag.

Bags are re-usable and if you get a hole in one, use them as leaf bags [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Spring Cleaning - Computers & Other Electronics

If you have warranties, now is a good time to send them in for a proper proffessional cleaning [img]/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

If you don't - dust with a soft cloth, use a small computer vacuum for the hard to reach areas.
