Today is "May Day" and they're starting today [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70371-jump.gif[/img]

Phil and I both took the day off. He asked me to make a pitcher of Rum Punch! Oh Boy!
It's gonna be a beautiful day!

So Phil keeps his Harley on the side of the house. Our garage is a converted machine shop and so he can't keep it in there for fear of metal shavings, etc. He hasn't ridden it since Nov, and the battery has died. The contractor asked him to move it because they're getting ready to pour the foundation. So, he pushed it into the backyard. Great, very easy and now it's safe.

But later in the evening, it dawns on us - how are we going to get it back out? The hole for the foundation has already been dug now. Framing is going in for the concrete pour. The other side of the house is now a dog run and too narrow for the bike to fit through... [img]/forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif[/img]

We could try taking it through the house, but since the battery is dead, we have to push it. The doorways are narrow enough that he would have to be ON it- no room to stand beside it to push. NO way is it going to fit through all the doorways. We could take it out the back fence, and around the block, but there's a private school back there and they are very touchy about using the school yard as a thoroughfare.

At 10:00 last night, Phil & I are out there using our shovels to put dirt BACK into the hole, so we can push the Harley down into the ditch on one side, then back out the other side, and back to the right side of the house...

Now to get the Vespa out...
