evening primrose

my front yard is infested on account of me sewing the seeds and not recognizing them when they're grown. now i'm researching on the web that all parts of the plant are edible. i don't trust the web entirely when it comes to stuff like ingesting wildflowers.

anybaddy know anything about it?

i went for a walk at lunch and discovered a somalian store. the women were applying hennae tattoo and i asked for one. then i came back to the office and googled henna. only to discover that black henna is supposed to be more dangerous than a rabid pit bull with an itchy bum.

any baddy know bout black henna? dem seh a di additive weh dem put inna it fi mek it black unless a indigo. anybaddy evva have bad reaction to it? thanks. both plant questions really. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

The root of the evening primrose is edible, and the whole plant is used as herbal medicine. How the whole plant is used for medicinal purpose, mi nuh know...probably it is boiled. The seed is edible. I've got some evening primrose that are multiplying like mad.

Henna...black henna...whatever they put in the henna may cause an allergic reaction in some people. I think it is the same dye that is in hair colouring products.

wouldn't you know it? i got an allergic reaction to the heanna. i'm allergic to black hair dye as well. di whole a mi arm swell up. i'm taking benedryl at the suggestion of the pharmacist. it scratch like ants nest. Evening Primrose is edible and medicinal and has a long history of use as an alternative medicine . The leaves are cooked and eaten as greens and the roots are said to be sweet succulent and delicious when boiled like potatoes. Flowers are a sweet addition to salads or as a garnish and young seedpods are Steamed. This plant was a staple food for many Native American tribes. Formerly cultivated for its nutritious edible roots, it is being increasingly cultivated for the oil contained in its seeds which contains certain the essential gamma-linoleinc acid (GLA), a very valuable fatty acid that is not found in many plants and has numerous vital functions in the body. anyway, the only brew i'll try is the tea? maybe i'll be adventurous and try the root too. i did notice they looked potatoish when i was trying to dig them out. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif[/img]
