It is not a flooring area I was considering, but rather a tile backsplash in the kitchen. I'm sure there is at least one guy in my church that knows how to do it [img]/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]aka ChurchDude. I want that moniker back! Until then....

you can rent tools if you don't want them for a multitude of future projects, but I'd buy them if I were you. #1, a tile cutter, laying tiles is childs play! It's big fun!Comment

I'm not sure I would want to invest in a tool that I may have no further use for. Plus, I believe that God gave people different talents so people like me can keep the 'expert' tradesmen working! [img]/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img] This is not an immediate must-do but I'll give it some thought.
One person suggested to me that instead of using cermamic tiles, I could easily use some peel-off floor tiles. I've never heard of this before, but is that a workable option? Can floor tiles go anywhere else other than on the floor? [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70402-thinking.gif[/img]aka ChurchDude. I want that moniker back! Until then....

go find a tile guy & get it done right.. it will be worth the extra effort in the end..
If you are not set on tile one of the latest trends appears to be stainless steel backsplashes (I watch hgtv [img]/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]) .. They come in a sheet and could be self installed... or they appear to be self installed. CEW, tiling is not too hard really. Get a book from the library, or buy one at the home center. Most of the toold are cheap enough, except one, and that one is available for rent from the home centers or your local equipment rental. Try it, you will love it.Comment
