Bedding 101..Help!!!!!!!!

so we just moved and one of the box spring will not make it past the entrance way of one of the bedrooms (there's a wall that's makes it impossible to turn the frame). [img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif[/img] One of the movers suggested a double full...or summen lika dat [img]/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif[/img]. But I think the height would still be a problem. I've done a search on the net and it appears a memory foam mattress does not require a box spring therefore it may the solution. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70384-praying.gif[/img] What do you think? Anybaddy has one? Do you like?

what size bed u talking about?

If it is a king, you can pass the mattress through because it bends but you may half to get 2 twin box springs.

If you want to go tempurpedic (which I hear there are complaints on how it absorbs body heat wid de memory foam bizness) you will still need a frame which means you can either
1) get the right size box spring
2) get a platform bed
3) fling it on the floor --- not exactly viable.


edited to add: Did they consider taking the door off the jamb?

its a queen size bed...the door is not the prob..its the wall that forms the little entrance into the room..argh [img]/forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img]

do you love your bedframe? is it one that can be adjusted to slats which then may eliminate the need for a box spring

I would think so because the box spring lays on the bedframe.. so you may just need some slats on the existing bedframe no? [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70402-thinking.gif[/img]

He worked late tonight & then he had kid duty. The answer is yes you can put slats in.. now the challenge for you is where to find bed slats to fit the bed. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif[/img]

King size beds usually come with a split box spring, but I had a full size bed that wouldn't make the turn in the stairs to my attic bedroom.
It was a new bed and for a nominal fee ($80us back in 1988) the bedding store took the box spring back and had it split by the factory.
