stuff still in atl

and just got my stuff back

well . . .

i have opened boxes with stuff i had forgotten

my bronze baby shoes - dem old

my parents first mortgage papers - 1956 - original signatures - bought the house for $16,000 - 15 miles from NYC

abu baby pics with his fat rolls

ex husbands, boyfriends

family pics - when everyone was slim

i've ended up with all the family "jewels"

and i've only gone through my dads "BOX"

i think i see my art - way back in the U STORE IT

Can you make special frames and group the pics together and then create a family corner,where the frames are rotated periodically?

As for the other items.. Some may be worth keeping; others selling & such

Wow this is gonna be great! Glad you got your stuff! Looking forward to seeing your art pieces!

Leave the things to Abu, Seveen. Otherwise they'll end up in a dumpster somewhere. I saw lots of that when I worked at the recycling center & it always made me sad. and yes I think you should write a book.

...this cracks me up! I remember a few years back as I approached my 50th birthday...I was telling myself it was no big deal. For some reason I began straightening up mi bedroom, and the next thing I knew I had this cardboard box on my bed with pictures spread all over my bed...and I was organizing them in catagories....and before I knew it, like 5 hours had gone by...it was pathetic......so I was thinkin. If I die, and the box is found, who's going to be looking at what....bla, bla, bla....hope I never go THERE again [img]/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

i found this lovely picture of my great-grandmother and great-grandfather

she was Seminole indian - he was African American

so i've made it back to Florida - home of the Seminole Indians

doing research on them and all the Black History in the area

nanook - we have gone through about 15 boxes and now i can see the art in the back of the storage unit - it's been slow going

i got this back - it's a print that i love - reminds me of driving in the country in Jamaica - i framed it with an old frame i bought for $1 at a yard sale

thinking about this piece would wake me up in the middle of the night

when Mandela visited Atlanta these were hanging up all over town

me and a few of my friends managed to get some - signed by the artist for $250

one of my friends sold hers on eBay for $4,000

when i look at this i am reminded that if Nelson could stay in jail 27 years and then become President of South Africa - i can get up and go to work for the day

got this a thousand years ago in St. Kitts from House of Romney - they do wonderful batiks - this was pronounced too fragile to clean
