Is wha the style now?
A nuff books we have and we remaking de old master bedroom into de reading/study room

2 desks fi de pickney dem fi do dem homework

Nuff bookshelves cause we have nuff books bout the place

Am thinking of turning the small closet in deh into a mini coffee bar... or should I just leave it as a closet for when guests come?

Do bookshelves have a style????

I have really cheap ones (think fake woodgrain over plywood) but I've been thinking of putting some molding around the tops and painting them. I even have some leftover window shutters I could cut to size and put on with hinges so we'd have some storage that is hidden....

Yes bookshelves do have a style,
Mission, Barrister, Old English, COntemporary, etc..

Will you be staining or painting the window shutters to match the color of the shelves? THat is a neat idea.

I havent quite figured out if I want to make tall bookcases or shorter ones. I do know 2 desks will be built (am thinking opposite corners considering the way these two argue pon a regular) and a cozy sofa for adult reading [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/bannana_purple.gif[/img]

maybe I will put the coffee bar in the bedroom and call it a day

Kia my dream library/study would have floor to ceiling bookshelves wrapped around the room with one of those rolling ladders..but since the kids gwine in deh mi nuh know bout the potential toy ladder..mi can see dem a swing round the room pan it

I like this style with the light coloured wood from the 1st pic. Instead of wood paneling behind the sofa I guess it would just be the wall. and since mi have one old couch in deh already mi can cover it nicely. The desks can be built into the shelves as well.

Its a big project but I think MrKia &amp; I can build this. I love the trim edges of the 1st one (dat mi ooda just buy &amp; done doah).
