Well, is that a dishwasher on the other side of the stove? It should be closer to the sink, like on the other side of the sink IMO.

Tell us about the colors. Is that yellow and purple part of the plan?

I totally agree with Nanook. The dishwasher must be beside the sink, or it would be a HUGE mistake. No windows in this room at all? Did you "draw" this?

What about this one with stainless steel cu board glass to display
the view on the inside. I know this one doesn't have the dish washer.

It can be done.. Have you checked the hgtv website? they have lots of tools for kitchen design and discuss the work area triangle in detail, in addition to having great designs.

Also check better homes & gardens too.. they have lots of ideas and unusual kitchen designs there too.

Not enough counter space ... get rid of that checkerboard thingy and add an island, also an overhead pot rack.

I like the kitchen in the photo you have shown, too, and it doesn't look run-of-the-mill. Things I like:

The glass inserts in the cabinets. Just remember whatever is in them will be seen (think super neat and cool stuff) unless you use frosted glass.

I also like the open shelving effect, used in combination. This can offer storage, while taking up less visual weight. Remember, again, though, that whatever is displayed needs to be beautiful (art glass, cool carved wooden pieces, etc)

L shaped kitchens can work just fine, just try to maintain some sort of "work triangle".

Are you considering a patterned floor? May I suggest you stay away from tile, particularly ceramic? You can do some really cool things with "real" linoleum with pattern. you will need a professional installer though. The outcome is well worth it though, and super durable and easy care.

What color cabinets, counters (oh, counter material is another consideration) and appliances are you thinking?

yes..I like the pic of the kitchen above..it looks like you have
a lot of space..so an island would be a very nice touch..you can do a bar type one

I would pass on the stainless steel cabinet..stainless is in right now but it'll be outdated in a minute...if only the appliances are stainless..you'll only have to change them out [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif[/img]
