Churchgirl, they are green aren't they? Just mow them! If you must kill them, please consider an organic approach.

Dandelions are actually an annual, so if you try to mow before the yellow flowers go to seed, you are lessening the chance of them returning.

Haven't seen you in ages, though, and it is nice to see you!!

There's one we have and it doesn't burn the grass...I think it's Scotts.

Yes, Skells, but Scotts is still chemical and toxic. Please don't go near it now or the baby. There are orgaic ways to deal with everything. You and your property will be happier.

BTW, one of the first insects to leave when you use chemicals is one of the most beneficial....honeybees. Second, ladybugs. If your property invites both, you are golden.

Why not just get someone to do the treatment/lawn care? There's weed killing, fertilizing, aerating, etc...it could become quite the handful. It's not expensive in my neck of the woods so I have an environmentally friendly company do mine. Just one less thing (aggravation) to deal with.

This time of year, not likely. In the heat of August, I would skip a week perhaps. When it is very hot, you want to cut it with the blade higher, to leave the grass (and other lovely vegetation) longer, to shade the roots of the plants. This helps to avoid that scorched look. This time of year, assuming you are getting good rainfall, I would think that the lawn would be 10" high in two weeks! [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif[/img]

get some of this:



the turf buildr weed and feed...aply it and water the lawn regularly...repeat in about 3 weeks....you'll be very happy with the results.(but the grass will grow quickly you will have to mow every week - also make sure you have the mower set higher so as not to cut the grass too short)

thats the other secret to having a nice lawn ...children not allowed to play on it..dem can play in the street...
