My foxgloves are finally seeding themselves

after many many many years of trying to get these darn foxgloves to naturalize....i've finally had some success this year. I'm pretty sure the original plants i got these seed from, came from my Dad's gardens, and he's been gone now for ten years. I've had a few come up each year, but this is the first year i've had what i consider a real success. I'm loving these flowers!

thats it for today...i havent been home much. Will try to get out tonight and see if i can snap whats blooming other than these foxgloves.

yes it is....his legacy lives on in my green thumb as well. 3 things i'm fond of i inherited from him...blooms~birds~BEER.

I only did petunias in my pots this year - they are doing well ... my Star Gazer Lillies will be busting out any day now ... hope I get a good show for my last year with them ...

...Jus curious Loops....do they grow wild thereabouts? Out here they are so prolific that people weed them out of their perenial gardens. i've never seen them growing wild here....but i will say that my father had them spreading all over his yard like you describe. They'd even come up through the crushed rock in the driveway! Just on my way home from camp the other day, i noticed a yard that had tons of them growing.

i attribute my recent success to holding off on the bark mulch for a few years. I think i was killing the little babies...death by smothering.
