I am looking for a solution for my daughter's room. She wants to display her art work in her room (cause dats the only place it gwine to be)

On the wall would be best, so other than one of those hanging cable thingys (that looks like a clothesline) with the clips, what else can I use ?

mi like the memo board format but it tek up too much wall space and I would have to use a push pin which would damage the medium.

she is very good [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif[/img] so gallery style is best. the clips on the cable would do little or no damage, and she would just have to change them out often (and store the rest in acid free storage) [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif[/img] \0/

it look kinda sloppy pan the wall, but I guess mi gwine end up using it and done, cause a long time mi a look now and mi nuh see nothing else weh solve mi prablem.

G, that is the exact method I use for my little artists. It is not as neat as my anal self would like, but it isn't the worst, and tehy are proud. Occasionally, I hang large pieces on the back of their bedroom door with painter's tape. I also hang select pieces that way in my studio, especially when my daughter has copied a painting of mine. I recently read a fabulous tip (I thought anyway). You know the piles of art you have, that seem too precious to throw away, yet also feel like clutter? Take digital photos of them! Either use a date stamp, or put a date on seperate piece of paper next to it or on top (flip side of a business card in the corner works well). Then you have a digital record of everything (dont' forget to burn off to a CD once a year)! Isn't that cool?

It's certainly not the neatest way to display (especially in small spaces) but I am going to get one tomorrow. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif[/img] I have searched for a better one for ages and I have had enough.

Yes we have some of her work on digital too and stored on the computer, mostly the michelangelo looking ones [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/704555_dwl.gif[/img] that we wanted to share, but yes that is a tip that I read about a while ago.


Also if you have certain items in your house that you simply love and want to get rid of..take a picture of them too and throw out that old 40 year old quilt. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70409-waytogo.gif[/img]

I make the little rolls on the back. So far, so good. I don't know that I would affix to a wall I didn't have touchup paint for, or didn't plan to repaint in the next, whatever (2 yrs?)....but, I can tell you that my daughter is over the moon when I choose a piece to hang in a place of honor. Soon, I am planning to get a few matching frames, that I can put pieces in...and then of course, supply the appropriately sized surface to do her work on....she loves to do dimensional mixed media, so these may include matching shadow boxes as well. That likely means black frames, if I want to buy ready made. By the way, I used hooks, and string or clothesline, and clothespins. Nothing elaborate.
