blue skies, warm breezes and summer flowers.....

stepped out and shot a few of my summer bloomers for you all last night after work....the garden is a riot of color and chaos. we've got lots of daylilies blooming, but they're almost lost in the sea of black eyed susans out there. i was meaning to yank some of them...but have had a hard time doing so...they look so bright and summery, and do great in bouquets...so, with me...almost any flower is a good flower.

saddens me to see the astilbe go by, as i love the creamy white one when it just opens...alas, while i look forward to each flower blooming, i also lament that the fact that it's blooming, can only mean it soon won't be...summer in these parts...is so darn fleeting.

I'm into the tropical plants down here. Got some huge elephant ears at the Farmer's Market last Saturday. I'm going to plant/start a pet garden [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70384-praying.gif[/img] for all my dogs that have passed on [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70394-bawlout.gif[/img] and want IT to be beautious too.........

thanks seveen...what's best about those is they just pop up everywhere...i've taken to pulling them out...should probably pull more.

growing tropicals sounds like so much fun....i hope to live in a warmer climate someday. so many different plants i'd like to try. ....especially those big leaved tropical varieties.

i returneth.

the pile you see there is just a portion of the pile of wood we gained when we had a black walnut cut down in the back yard last fall. it was splitting and we were afraid it was going to go in a storm and land on the house. after it was felled, the trunk was cut into board lengths and we had a guy with a portable saw mill come by and mill the logs into boards. we have a nice stack of lumber curing in the garage for various projects we've dreamed up. See here....scott has been diddling with it lately making some rustic yahd stuff.



the legs are cedar, also taken from some pruning made necessary by yet another storm incident.



i love the table, want him to make me one for camp. mind you, if you scrutinize both pieces, you'll see he's no carpenter...but i like them both, just the same. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif[/img]
