Housekeeper?

OK, so I have to go back to work- full-time. I know...BOO HOO! I've been working part-time for about 5 years.

I told my hubby that when I go back 'full-time', I'm going to hire a housekeeper! he just laughed and I continued to tell him that I'm SERIOUS! I want someone to come in every 2 weeks to do the 'heavier' (ickier) stuff.

Well, I have someone coming over on Wed. to give me a quote.

WOULD YOU clean your house immaculate before the person gets here, or let them see the "real thing"??

My pride wants me to clean. My head wants me to let it go. I mean - it's OBVIOUS that I need help - or else I wouldn't have called, right?

Sounds like my dilemma whenever MIl comes over...lol...I have to do a Pre MIL cleaning before she comes because I know she is going to find something to clean anyway [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/704555_dwl.gif[/img] I am at the point where I just don't care.


I say if you paying you shouldn't go out your way to clean but be considerate of the kind of mess you leave...

well definitely pick up yuh baggy dem from bout the place and put things where they are supposed to be.

if I came to your house and saw dried on food on a plate in the bedroom, I would leave

Tatty...my theory behind the housekeeper was that she was there to do the "big nasty jobs"...i was happy for her to clean the bathroom...dust, vacuum and mop the floors. If she has to pick up before she starts....that takes time away from her deep cleaning. the idea is that if she takes care of that stuff....you'll have more time to keep the place tidy.

I don't have things laying around - in the way. It's more like papers covering my desk, cobwebs up way high, the kitchen needs mopping bad bad.. Things like that.
My son's bedroom is clean, so I'll leave his door open, but my daughter's room is another story - her door will stay closed. If she gets it cleaned up, I will ask then to dust and vacuum her room, too. (But SHE has to get it ready)
