just some shots of what's blooming in my yard at this late date....the first of October.

I always plant a cutting garden in the veggie plot, planted my flower seeds quite late this year, mid June, so they're just starting to break out in blooms now...i'm cutting bouquets as often as i can....the more i cut...the more blooms i get. What you see here is two rows of zinnias and a row of cosmos.

OK i HIGHLY recommend this clematis...it's not typical of most clematis you see....has small flowers and blooms very late in the season...and the BEST THING about it is the heavenly aroma. very nice...it's called a Sweet Autumn Clematis.

I've still two plants BUDDED but not blooming yet...one is a native fall mum that blooms pink, first year for it...i bought it at the local plant sale in the spring. And my season closer, which is my purple monkshood...aka aconitum. soon come for both of them.

the phlox here nanook...it's everywhere...i took some pics a couple of weeks ago, but never uploaded them. they're mostly gone by now. let me go see if i can upload them...have you seen peebucket has a mass upload option now? works great.

and seveen...if you can dig it....you can dig it. i still say you need to turn your BACK yard into your hideaway.

Had our first storm yesterday with 2 huge downpours that washed a trench in our gravel driveway. The "dry" streambed I put in around the north side of the house to divert groundwater worked!...cept I didn't dig it deep enuf.

sure did greenie...direct seeded them in rows right in the garden there. you would not believe how they keep coming.
