What kind of rug is good for a casual dining area in an open kitchen plan?

our style is transitional but I cant picture what the rugs should look like [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70394-bawlout.gif[/img]

I will also need complimentary scatter rugs as well [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/helpsmilie.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70459-hugs.gif[/img]

Kia, how about Berber cut to size? If you want a little color, you can coose some fabric binding for the scatters (or the big one for that matter) and those can be switched out later without too much trouble.

i opted for no rugs with my hard woods

the rugs may leave "rings" after awhile

the floor dusts up fine

and i bought a "Flip It' to vacuum and wash it

really easy

I have the living room rug, the rug under the kids computer as they constantly drag things all about, and by the doors that lead outside cause I dont want mud.

I did go caster crazy and have practically everything that touches the floor on a piece of felt.. right now am swiffering.. what kind of vacuum did u get seveen?

i put rugs near the door but outside not on the hardwoods

so there's a rug before entering the kitchen from the garage but outside

i have found my floors hold up excellently

and i love being able to clean, mop, scrub to the wall

and no smell

i'm ready to tear up the carpet in my bedroom and do hardwoods

and i love my hardwood kitchen - no rug even by the sink - and abu is NOT neat

one side is a dry vac the other is a wet vac for hardwoods [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70409-waytogo.gif[/img]

ooohhh...

I have 2 abus and raise u 2 dogs so definitely need one of these. The dogs have access to the back yard via the dog door so I close the laundry room door and make them walk on the rug there for a while until they bark and I let them in and wipe their paws.
