Re: Sewer Smell
sorry to say Skells u may have a sewer leak beneath the ground.
My house in NY was a very old house with those metal pipes for as long as I could remember the house had a smell in the basement andnothing we did could get rid of it.
When the fire happened and the contractor smelled the basement he busted the concrete up and lo and behold we had no pipes just rusted out pieces. usually a camera feed into the sewer line or down the shower drain can cause you to see this problem. the sewage was seeping into the foundation fo the house rather than going out to the street and yes needless to say it cost a grip to fix but if left unattended can be dangerous (my house started shifting because of the moisture beneath itthe engineers suspect it will collapse in a few years (which is y I sold to someone who I thougth would demolish teh stupid house instead he resold it to some unsuspecting buyer

Re: Sewer Smell
We had a trap put in also Shultz but the problem was the pipes were rusted and rotted out so far beneath the house that the smell was coming from every opening heck we had moisture build up that we didn't knwo where it was coming from till the concrete was busted up. Our insurance company paid the claim (den they dropped us)

You are missing a P trap in either the sibk or shower/Tub.
If the bath room is on the fiorst floor, you will be able to see the shower/bath trap ftom the basement, abd if it ios on anothe rfloor, you have to inspect it from the cieling. The sinl should be visible under the cabinet. Many householder who do their own plumbing make the mistake iof not replacinbg it when they do repairs. bad mistake. They are responsible to stop the flow of sewer gases,by holding water that the gasses cannot pass. Just like the toilet does.
Tell Missa Skelly to checl it out and is a easy replace,if he knows his tools.
