Re: mid century modern design
Well in defense of the owners of dogs that get this stuff I must say this....
The dog furniture is great stuff! It beats having them on MY furniture! I have little doggie furnitures all around.
The raised doggie dishes are actually a very worthwhile investment! Ergonomically speaking, you might well save some vet expenses down the line by feeding your dog from a raised dish. When they get old and frail they might have less neck problems. Serious.
I buy furniture and clothes for my dogs. And toys. There is a lot worse people can do for their dogs than pamper them and dress them in clothes and buy them soft bedding and such. The shelters are full of dogs that nobody loves.
Anyway, yes some may view this as misguided. however..most dog lovers...myself included, are the type of people who care about a lot of things, not just their dog. Everyone I know that cherishes their animals also do things for charity and make donations to those in need.
See these here, ages 14 1/2 & 15 1/2. in front of the fireplace i bought just for them, on the big pillow I bought just for them!
We celebrate birthdays...
Nice little raincoat...

Re: mid century modern design
Oh I totally agree, Nan, especially about things like raised bowls, and coverups for dogs not built for cold climates etc. I just think (like everything else in life) that there are people who WAY overdo it, and spend too much money on extravagent accessories (a raised bowl, yes - a raised bowl that costy $695, no). Of course, I think the same about clothes and cars and houses, too. *shrug*

Re: mid century modern design
I hadn't noticed the prices in this thread, which is a whole nother ball game.
The same extravagance applies to people too I guess. The ones who must have "everything" are the ones who buy this way too expensive stuff.
Sadly, now that I think harder on this...maybe the people that are THAT extravagant as the beginning photos aren't the kind to donate to charity either. I might have been comparing apples to oranges because my dog sweaters cost 5.00 or free from someone who makes them one. Sigh...
Ok, back to the drawing board!
