road trip!

mi have an island in the kitchen & de odda day mi did buy some chairs fi de kids sit near it.. Well dem love it to death.

Problem is dat the island counter does not contain an overhang so mi need fi replace the countertop.

So I was thinking of a throway countertop (eg formica/ laminate sinting) till we do de remoggle next year. Mi rah! a just $5 - 10 sq ft less dan granite.

So now mi a tink.. What if I buy a piece a granite big enough fi fit in de remoggle design and dem come in later fi drop the sink inna it? (ie tek ie up & refit wid de new island & sink)

Oh yeah, me sseee whe u seh, u a go use it later..
but how u know dat u nay change u design later, ezpecially if a bout 6 months from now u a go redo de kitchen, and some other newer and nicer design ketch u eye...

we have the plan and the island is in [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/bannana_purple.gif[/img] but since the kids a use the island so much we are considering just replacing that piece

Usually when u do granite, dem put in the sink cutting, and drop in the sink fe free..
the granite people are ones who put in the sink at the time of cutting....
so in order to save money, I would suggest that if u decide fe use granite, put the sink in at the same time..

personally, I wouldnt do a throwaway nutten in formica. Just put in wha u like now, with the sink, and the over hang (me have the overhang now meself) and let the kids enjoy..


if u decide fe redo the entire other countertop, u can still go with an alternate color, if the granite color fe de island used isnt available.
why I say this, is because when u buying granite, u haffe see it and pick u slab..
is not all slabs look alike, nor the marblizing run de same way..
..
