In fact, me teking the whole day off fe just plant.

wha me plan fe do is plant

1. tulips
2. Rosemary plant
3. turn de compost pile
4. finish putting in de pansies
5. finish puttin in de snow peas me started yesterday marning with me daughter..
6. New plants me buy (5 peonies, cannas, etc)
7. transplant me seedlings dat me started inna de house to bigger pots, so dat me can have dem ready fe give whe to me friends and neighbors.. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70390-shhh.gif[/img]

last year I panted

lettuce
spinach
carrots
sugar peas
strawberries
spagetti squash
garlic
green onions
lots of tomatoes [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/bannana_purple.gif[/img]
raspberries
rhuburb

then I put my herbs in pots around the garden
thyme
basil
oregano
rosemary
a bunch of others that I cant remember at the moment [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/blush.gif[/img]

I want to add collard greens this yr once I get some seeds and some different type of squash too.

that's just for the backyard

for the front yard where I dont have much space
but I want to add some more different types of day lilies.
I do some tulips but I really like poppies at spring.
the rest of the garden is shrubs and whatever annuals I find pretty in the garden store.

I have containers on the steps and I just add whatever looks good when I go shopping for the year.

de rhuburb me a plant fe de first time this year..
(me buy dem from bout 3 weeks now and dem a siddonw pon me windowsill [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/blush.gif[/img])
me tink me did pick up some asparagus, but me noh see dem, so inna me excitement fe buy up plant with shoots, me musse did put it down and noh realize..

Nyla, a dont know if plant collard from seed, but u know dat u can buy dem already inna de flat.
I got mines from Walmart fe 2 dollar and change.
A tink Home depot and lowes have dem too..

tank yuh ma'am - I am trying very hard to become a real gardener. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif[/img] I love doing it but truth be told I have not much of a clue [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/blush.gif[/img] I just plant and watch!

out west here I havent seen collard greens in bud form in the stores, so I was gonna try from seed and see how long it takes to grow here. It would be nice to not do it from seed but I dont think I have another option [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif[/img]

I havent tried red onions, just the green onions which are no-brainers to grow.
let me know how u do with those.

anyway mrKia a de gardener so mi a report him activities

im tek ova mi living room wid heating pads and did plant from seed, pansies, nuff odda flowers, peas and some other things.. As the weather stawt warmup, de pods dem go siddung pon de front step a daytime and back eena de bay window a nighttime..

a just now some a dem a plant.

today mi going eena de back fi cleanup de leaves dem (cause im gawn a campaigning) and den spend some girl time wid girlKia

Kia, I love to eat callaloo but you cant always find the fresh stuff around here. So that is why I wanted to try and grow it so at least for the summer and fall I can have some fresh stuff.

I wish I had the patience of MrKia, to start seeding indoors. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif[/img] I find it stessful for some odd reason but it makes sense to do that for certain plants.
