So I bought this plant today. couldnt resist it.
I bought it lass year, but it didnt do well. Seems dat I must have planted it inna too much shade, and it likes nuff light..

its called Moonbeam coresopisis. its very pretty, when its small and compact, but fe de life a me, me plant it inna de front yard, under a pine, and the thing didnt survive one winter, and its a perrenial..[img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70402-thinking.gif[/img]

what is your zone? maybe cover the plant with straw or mulch in the winter to help it survive.

plus the thing does not like a lot of water, so that is something to consider.

Bought two at home depot lass year, but no sign of it dis year..

it is a lovely plant! i like the delicacy of the flowers.

funny enuff I dont have it but because it is a perennial that does well in my zone 3-4, nuff ppl have them around here for shurbbery.

it is normally a hardy shrub - outside of the water thing, so it should survive well in your neck of the woods.

the bright red one in the centre is a japanese barberry. It's even nice in the winter when the branches turn a dark burgandy.

the orange/yellow ones on either side of the barberry are called golden flame(?) spireas. I love spireas - they help cut down on the wind that blows and sometimes ruins the flowers in the containers on the steps.

the pink shrub in the middle, I have no clue [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70392-silly.gif[/img] my cousin gave me a cutting from the year before and I dont remember what it is called. the damn thing is invasive as hell [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad.gif[/img] pretty much self-seeded EVERYWHERE and I had to cut nearly all of it back.

A just yesterday I reminded myself to get the camera out.... things are a blooming around here.

Did some plant purchases, mainly tropicals from logees dot com, love their website as I can get all the nice variety of tropicals you would not find in the local gardening store. BUT I couldn't help myself and went down to the gardening store for some annuals, various perennials, especially for the shade garden... hucherias/coral bells, ferns, hostas and some others which I can't remember the names. Got some shasta daisy, persian sheild, chocolate plant and a whole heap of sun loving plants.

I lost just one plant over the winter... a passion flower plant which suppose to be hardy for zone 6 but somehow it did not made it through the winter. So wey mi do, go pon logees and go order one nedda one. Have a lemon and guava plant coming into the mail soon. Got a few Heliconias and Red Ginger plants (aren't those the same thing?).

btw, mi moving back home at the end of the month and I am soooo anxious, can't wait, very excited and dying to be near my garden.

s'alright, u can laff [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/704555_dwl.gif[/img] my friend did when he came by with his daugther and the two of them watched me ripped the thing out of the ground like a mad woman.

orange daylilies are the worse [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif[/img] i got rid of those and am trying new daylilies. I'll try to take pix tomorrow when i have a bit more sun.

SandiF, what kind of coral bells do u have? I bought some of those today for the first time.

Me illegal tenant (a groundhog) decides fe nyam up the whole flowers pon top of the plant and just leff the empty spikes..
