Travertine patio

this summers project: ive torn out my deck and am replacing it with a 12' X 20' western cedar deck and Peruvian travertine patio. what im curious about is how travertine stone is going to hold up during cold winter months because i was going to use interlock paverstones, but after a few years they "dull"

Wow Ho, that is really ambitious! While I love travertine, and I think it would look great, I can't recall ever seeing an exterior installation. I would think it would have to be tumbled (smooth would be slippery when wet). I will have to look it up later when I get a chance. Can we see photos please?
