who a eat from the summer garden now?

we have lettuce, spinach and strawberries

mint (great for the mojitos)

and nuff callaloo already so dat a show up every day in some form.

the peas noh ready
tomatoes not there yet..

Skelly u skellion come back wid a vengeance yet?

so far just herbs from my garden. the everlasting and unkillable spearmint, parsley, and some coriander and basil i bought and planted this year.

i'm skipping the veggie gardeningthis year. but i did buy a blueberry bush - just need to get some acidic additive to give it a kick start. the raspberries (golden and red) are just forming. my gooseberries have borne a couple, but again, i think it needs some acidizing of the soil to really bear more.

this being a wet year, my peartree is loving it and quite a few have formed (anjou). my golden delicious apples are also just formed.

i need to get out and take some pix cause the vegetables are coming in nicely

swiss chard
strawberries
squash
green onions
garlic
peppers
fennel
tomatoes

and tons of herbs
Bay
rosemary
thyme
lemon balm
fennel
tarragon
basil
hyssop
rue
parsley
a few different mints
oregano
sage

the only thing not going so good is the callaloo

out of all the seeds 7777 sent me only <span style="font-weight: bold">ONE</span> sprouted

so I am trying to nurse it along

<span style="color: #3333FF">Tomatoes are coming along nicely. In addition to the seeds MrBlue started indoors, we bought two small tomato plants from HD. I planted one and MrBlue planted the other. The one I planted is the largest and has a bunch of beautiful tomatoes on it, one almost ready for picking. I'm so proud of my tomato tree.

Our cabbage is coming slowly but surely and the corn, too.

MrBlue says the okra is growing nicely.

We have peppers that will be ready soon and cucumbers somewhere in there.

I don't think the onions did well.

Collards will be ready soon.

Callaloo - didn't do well at all. Beg more seeds, Kia?

That's just the veggies. I've got to take some pictures of the flowers that MrBlue planted along the walkway.

At some point I'd like some beans and peas, some herbs, garlic...</span>

Scotch Bonnet Peppers
Green Peppers(not as good as last year only got 2)
Suesuma blossom turning into suesuma
Lots of cherry tomatoe and 1 tree of the big round ones almost ready.

u have a whole supermarket growing here nylah!! Yeah callaloo from seed does take some nursing I guess.. ours did well but it was done with the pods and then planted

Nice to see your tomatoes growing cause with the tomato salmonella sittin it is better to have u homegrown ones

<span style="color: #3333FF">I'll be up there soon. As soon as I get approved for the mortgage I have to take out to afford the gas.

I was highly upset to learn that the vegetables are not perennial and will have to be replanted every year.

nuff skellion come up almost ready to cut...mi calalloo nuh come p back yet doah...wassup wid dat? Wonder if is in July when dem start bear up back. My plum tree is laden agen! Mi si couple pears and di grapes dem a gwaan to. Mi have mint all over..dem is a pestilence and mi have a whole bunch a chives but mi nuh use it.

Well first of all, hello to this room...I don't think I've ever posted here before

I grow some small pots of herbs on the balcony (we're apartment dwellers)....basil, parsley, oregano, thyme, tarragon, rosemary and sage...

does anyone have advice about watering the plants if we're away for awhile? other than having a friend come by every couple of days?
