here's my veteran - about 3 years. i guess it's a chocolate heuchera, flowers later in the summer. it's surrounded by miniature hostas, then next by another kind of hosta, then on the left in the distance a third kind of hosta (variegated).
then in this one, two heucheras I bought this year - a miniature one in the foreground that's already flowering, and then one called caramel something a little behind - love the colour.
note the money plant in back - one of the first things to flower this spring, to my suprise - even earlier than the forget me nots, but not before bleeding hearts.
so here's the thing - we had nuff rain and cool weather this so-called spring/summer. so, the plants get flower buds but dem hole on an hole on till we get a couple of really warm days, then dem jus BUSS OUT!
except for the canna lilies which i fear have just stopped growing.
my murderous kitty hanging out in the path created by the guy who did my eavestroughs. man chop dung mi shrub dem willynilly and trampled on my fern collection. took this pic bout two-three weeks ago with my cellphone.
cat has nuff names: ratty (caw she fava rat sometimes); new cat; hairy; birdkilla (mi call har dat); stinky. Her name at the vets is Marylou.
a butterfly decided to visit the hosta, taken same time as i took ratty's pic.
it was a terrible year for caterpillars, so much so my new neighbour cut down one of the trees in his yard cause he thought it was infested with "worms". im come from Clarendon.
