does anyone know what types of material for kitchen counter tops.something other than ceramic tile? avaible in mobay area

I don't know about the MoBay area, without consulting an online yellow pages, but I can tell you that I really support the use of composite material such as the Silestone brand (doesn't have to be that). They are durable, easy care and Green (eco-friendly). Second to that, consider a solid surface material such as Corian or the like. Tiles do NOT belong on countertops in my opinion, as the grout lines can seriously harbor bacteria and germs of all sort, no matter how meticulous you are.

You do NOT want to put marble on a countertop. It stains way too easy - especially with acidic juices like you would be using alot in JA. Granite a better choice, but I bet it is not indigenous. The other products that are quartz composites are (like Silestone) etc should eb readily available, I would think.
