Best features for me are the energy saving features.

The washer automatically measures how much clothes you put in. Then decides the exact amount of water needed to properly wash your load.

The dryer has a sensor. When the clothes are dry, it stops.

The colors are nice, but since my laundry room is part of the garage, I got white.

im not sure of all these brands like LG, Samsung, Daewoo..
i tend to have more faith in brands like Maytag, Whirlpool, Kenmore (although made by whirlpool.

I am in the market for new washer and dryer and have been looking at the energy saving/steam ones for over a month now but cannot make up my mind as to which one to purchase. I liked the LG and the Samsung brand - the red tango and mid-night blue colors are beautiful but the prices -- on sale the lowest I've found is $989.99 washer and gas dryer @ 1,187.99. Unfortunately due to space concerns I have to buy a duet. Have you guys seen these any cheaper?

what make /model are you looking at?

whirlpool has the duet and the smaller duet sport. Are you referring to the duet sport?

I looked at the sports duet and also the other stand alone smaller units because as I am told that you can buy the stackable kit which will work with the standalone washer/ dryer. The laundry area is upstairs and not very big so I most likely will have to purchase the smaller unit. My problem is that I would like to purchse one of the color units and those are pricey - oh well the B&amp;W works just the same as the color ones.
