mi was asking for some help to redecorate my foyer? I needed some sturdy plants that could tolerate the winter chill. I went with Loops' suggestion and got a ficus.

would you consider painting the ceiling two shades lighter than the wall?

Wow, what a difference a coat of paint and a plant can make.

isn't it amazing what color can do? I can't wait til the whole house done paint..so far my colors are tying in beautifully....

that chair I got from one of my neighbors when I used to live in a town house..they were moving and gonna throw it out but I saved it and just got a chair cover for it

somehow I still feel like I could go for more accessories... I added some long pothos on the round table by the window...wondering if I should remove the orchid

painting the dining room the other color would work and you can still paint the ceiling of this room which will draw the eye down into the room.

as for the orchid? I was thinking something more sculptural personally

Skelly- can i offer some advice?

i see you used a tone in the orange spectrum.

why dont you paint one wall a lighter shade or add an accent color?
for example you

light greens calm down orange-for example Sico has a color- wedgewood green #6103-31

whites give orange more zing
reds and purples make orange sizzle.

oranges also work nice with natural wood as it brings out the ptina/grain of natural wood-plus your tile floor is beige

skelly-i think you need to take something out of the Foyer- it too busy for a entrance-


so heres my advice-see the wall where theres the front door? (the wall the back of the chair is- why dont you paint THAT wall a green shade as shown in the exapmles- that waty it kinda doesnt make your cream front door stand out so much?-

then remove some of the articles in the room an simplify it because theres to many things for the eye.

and your chandelier- you have too many finishes- why dont you make a trip to Home Depot and get something black? cuz i notice your (vases)


i really like the colour! just work with another color to tone it down

i love those two colors together....esp with the dark wood of the bed.

thanks---except i shouldnt be talking--i havent even primed or painted my entrance yet


but i think she needs a color to tone down the peachy orange-and would you agree that the accent color should be the wall where her door is-behind the chair? that way if she use a green hue-it tones down the cream front door?- i also think she should paint the door a more white to get the traditional look
