well still in the process

step 1- upgrade the washer/dryer - check
step 2- paint - 75% done
step 3- put up the newer cabinets - dependent on completion of step 2.

I love nice laundry rooms for some crazy reason and I wish mine as bigger to put in more shelving etc.

have to do the trim and the doors.. but the ceiling and wall are painted..

since it is such a mundane choreroom i painted it a veddy bright color

That is similar to the colour I had originally in mine!

I painted over with a "softer" bluish-green just because the room is too small to take the brighter color

what size is your room - this is a 6 x 8 i think.. and it is one of the entryways to the back yard

Your room looks a bit bigger than that

Mine is about same size 7 x 8, but is located in the basement with no windows for natural lighting. Once the lighting was added it was just too much - the colour just intensified and I didnt like the feel of the room anymore.

But I think with the entrance to the backyard and more natural light than me, it wouldnt be as overwhelming, IMO. It is a beautiful colour - it just needs to work in the right conditions and I think your space will be okay with it.

stage 2 cabinets is up!

we had originally mounted the cabinet so the top would be flush with the ceiling but what we had forgotten was that the new cabinet had bigger doors which then would hit the light when we opened the right side cabinet door

fixed the problem by mounting the cabinet 5 inches lower than planned which has the added benefit of having my mother and others to reach the top shelf of the cabinet with ease!

stage 3: decide what to put in the 5 inch space above the cabinet that is attractive. any ideas? please

wanted to ask you Kia, did you buy the cabinet fronts as is, or did you put the pictures in yourself? I really like the look.

put the pictures in myself

got the cabinets at ikea and they came with the glass fronts

also picked up the prints at ikea too
