alright, I have multiple inspirations

I want to go soft grey and pink in my bedroom. Right now it is gold and cranberry and I am getting tired of it. Again, I want something softer and more girlish.

truthfully, I never noticed the trim thing before. That is one way to change it up.

those are all nice, functional and aside from the sarah richardson one not overly feminine.

bedroom painting is on my list this year too.. a slow job, a wall at a time and I was thinking greytones as well

Here is the current color scheme in my room.

I hate to paint over those walls cause that was a serious bit of work to pull off straight vertical stripes but it has been 4 years and I have to lighten it up.

For the walls, I mixed a gold metallic paint with a pearlescent clear paint to get a shimmer effect. It didnt turn out how I wanted it but after 2 days I started to like it. You cant get it from the pix but the walls have a raw silk texture look to them - almost like wallpaper

plus, I need to just make my own headboard cause I have yet to find one I like.

nice colors and stripes if you did that yourself

if you want to keep the stripes the swag chandeliers will be awesome with it.


ohhh and some large silk pillows with greys and browns with a pop of red would warm up the bed are with the chandies fi real

my BFF and I pulled those stripes off

I helped her with her daughter's bedroom and kinda got a routine going. Then we tackled my bedroom before I moved in.

That was some major effort with the levelling, etc.

I want to move to softer colored walls and bedding though. With the gold and brown sheets, I find that it is just too dark in the winter given out type of sun light. So, I was thinking of using one of the swag chandliers as a jump off point to get new bedding and wall color.

tonks. Again our inspiration at the time was an episode of Trading Places when a dining room was painted in horizontal stripes. We went with vertical to give the room an illusion of space.

The problem is we dont have sunlight for very long during the winter. The room faces east and the color is sharp in the morning but after that the cast off light as the sun moves thru the sky is dull and the room feels oppressive. The summer isnt bad but since winter last longer than summer around here..........

I still am jonesing for a grey and pink room Nothing too instense but soft.

I am searching for the House &amp; Home episode from 2006 called What happened to Pretty? There is a designer they featured named Jacqueline __________ cant remember her last name. But if I can find a pix of her house then you can see exactly what I am going for.

I watched this 2 years ago, and I literally had a seismic shift in my head about my design taste.

Now Ms Appel's taste is definitely not for everyone - I think you have to have a particular personality to dig it......but I absolutely LOVE it!

It is the spirit of that she captures that I like. Some of it is over the top but how the room feels is what I really like and her use of colors and ecletic (?sp) items is what appeals to me. She is very much a creative person and it shows in her design taste.

I got it at this funky little store in one of our shopping districts called the Tin Box. I googled to see ifthey have a website - they do but it isnt completed yet www.tinbox.ca. Hopefully, they will update it soon because it really is a neat store.

Really cool store for off the wall kind of gifts. I have bought pillows and other home accessories from there.

I saw kits at Lowe's that convert a recessed light into a pendant, it screws into the recessed fixture and the medallion covers the &quot;can&quot; Very cool!!
