Paint! Free paint is usually available at recycling centers. Very cheap paint can be found at hardware store if it is a shade off from what a customer wanted and refused.

I collect antiques and vintage things that I get from estate sales and antique stores and such and recycle them around from one room/location to another and each time I do a major re-arrange it provides a makeover feeling. My better things I just switch around from room to room since I can't leave them in a outbuilding in the weather conditions I get. Other things I store in a outbuilding and each time I re-introduce them to a room inside, it's like the first time I saw them.

I am a huge re-purposer. Paint Paint Paint!!
I get all my paint for free as my brother is a commercial painter.
I love changing things up with stuff I had put away for a few years.
I rarely refuse a hand-off piece and am currently waiting on a delivery of a diner style booth bench with a hinged seat that my nephew has promised to bring me. It will replace something else in my apt, just not sure what just yet.

Sarongs make a great multi-purpose item - use as tablecloth or window curtain.

Change out a lampshade or add beaded or fringed trim....

Ok. gotta run but I will be back to this thread. if it's free it's for me!!
