Re: Orchid growing...it's a lot easier than you may think
Just saw these pics, loops...I'm impressed, they are GORGEOUS! and such a reasonable price for big ones!
They were asking $2-$3,000 at the Hague agricultural show, but I guess that isn't THAT much more, just more than I could afford! Prob. the best way to get them cheap is to go back at the end of the show when peeps are trying to get rid of things, altho by then all the prettiest ones are gone....guess beggars can't be choosers!
Re: Orchid growing...it's a lot easier than you may think
I am curious about the answer to Q.K.'s question too.
I see beautiful orchids all the time in the garden centre up the road but never buy because I think I wouldnt have the proper lighting to support them.
(plus they do seem high maintenance over all )
I think I read that they dont like strong direct light, right?
Re: Orchid growing...it's a lot easier than you may think
thanks ladies.
ok...the light. I'd say i have light from the south and west mostly...and the west fades early as i'm on the wrong side of the peninsula. so...the light is somewhat filtered. they are not near any heating registers.
they are not high maintenance in the least....i'm finding them pretty easy to maintain
