This is getting a little ridiculous now.

Look – who makes good furniture anymore – who – where do you go?

Please don’t say Raymour & Flannigan. No offense, but it’s not working for me.

All I keep seeing is veneer this veneer that ... I mean, come on now.

You need to furnish a living room and dining room.

Where is the good, strong quality WOOD stuff these days?

Are my only options paying a mint to Ethan Allen or driving to Amish Countrty?

Don't say NC because we tried some of that during a visit there and so much stuff is made in China now, it's scary.

Please share any suggestions.

have you checked out Crate and Barrel..they have the "real" furniture section and the put it together yourself dept (has real wood as well), Pottery Barn? DWR?

apparently NO ONE makes dem without veneer anymore sitten bout <span style="font-weight: bold">&quot;the use of real wood only will cause warping with temperature variances&quot;</span> and the veneer prevents the furniture from warping.

mi gaw ethan allen and a dat dem tell mi, mi gaw pier1, pottery barn every strking weh a the same \0/


mi juss end up buy one bed and desk from pier 1 and dem nevah cheap eedah

yuh nuh know how TICKED I was. even those &quot;unfinished&quot; places use veneer too.

been there done that with ethan allen, they use veneer. mi naily buy the bed from ethan allen, but it wasn't quite what mi was looking for, so mi leff it deh.

Have tried Pottery Barn.

Just seems like some of their stuff is over priced for what it is. Maybe I need to go back and look again. A good deal of their stuff is tricked out with veneer as well.

What I'm finding is this - some &quot;good&quot; furniture can have veneer as well - used to help protect the wood. So you can find &quot;good&quot; furniture at a place like Ethan Allen but you'll ALWAYS find veneer at say, Ikea.

Generally speaking, example:

STICKLEY - alllll wood; you'll never find veneer on their stuff

ETHAN ALLEN - some things all wood, much has veneer

POTTERY BARN - might find all wood but much will be 'protected' with veneer

RAYMOUR FLANIGAN - unlikely you'll find something that's not all or partly veneer

IKEA - rare to find all wood; 99% partical board and veneer

What gets me Gen is that most places I go to - each has a different definition of veneer.

Some of the sales people don't even <span style="font-size: 17pt"><span style="font-weight: bold">know</span></span> what they're selling - some aren't even sure if what they have is 100% wood or not.

Mawnin Kia - am looking for the full monty.

Need a right proper dining room: can be an actual set or table and chairs with a different but complimentary sideboard.

Need a coffee table, side tables, etc, for living room.

Am trying to do one room at a time.

2 guess bedroom affi get done too but mi nuh ketch desso yet.

I couldn't find anything dining room so now have switched to looking for living room but have just hit road blocks. Can't find anything I feel is real good quality.

I can settle for some things but I just can't see myself putting crap in my dining room.

I may have to wait and save big time and make a Stickley or similar move.

all the same to me, and I would rather do without any of it on my furniture but a guess the brooklyn winter gwine warp dem

One of the guest rooms will have 2 twin or 2 full beds in them.

I desperately am looking for this bed.

It's not the make up of the room I'm going for - just that bedframe/base.
