Spiders and them Webs

this is the first year where I have tons of spider webs wrapped around my plants.

normally, spiders are only an issue here when spring is wet and damp...this year has been anything but.

So....I have no idea where they are coming from this year

Spiders per se dont bother me but the thick webs they entangle my plants in are a nuisance.

Anybody have any ideas to get rid of them that are organic?

well this will be easy because I <span style="font-weight: bold">love</span> ladybugs

the link had some good info about the insect soap and oils.

I am going to run to the garden centre up the road and see if they have some.

I spent the day in the garden and the webs are everywhere

but it makes sense from what the link says - we have had dry, arid weather of late with little actual moisture. So spider mites thrive in this environment and not necessarily the big spiders I am used to.

well I decided to hold off on the Ladybug purchase...I dropped $100 on some flowers that caught my eye, so the $21.99 price tag for a bag of ladybugs felt steep all of a sudden

I did however buy some Neem Oil to spray on the plants. The other insecticidal soaps werent as organic as they were saying they were, so I choose the Neem Oil instead.

The garden clerk says she uses it in her garden to kill aphids and all manner of bad bugs. And it leaves the good bugs like ladybugs to roam freely.
