so I planted some hybrid type Peony plant at the beginning of the season by bulb.
It took forever to grow but now it is coming up. I have never seen such a straggly peony "bush" before.
but the flowers are well pretty.

about Nasturiums
these flippin things have taken over the garden
Here there are in the spring.
And now that I am back home
The drowned out the strawberry plant and lemon balm plant I have in the right corner.
Wel pretty much everything has been pushed out cause of them

I have those same peonies, the look black when they just open (mine do) but the last windstorm blow dem down

yes they look black when the first start to bloom - I think they are gorgeous but did your bush
any bushier with time? Or it look like so all the while?

okay. I think I will move it to a more suitable spot then cause it looks kinda funny with all the shorter bushier plants around it.Comment

dat deh sickly looking sinting noh meet "bush" qualifications
my mother had several LARGE peonie bushes on the outer perimeter of the yard ... absolutely gorgeous
I always hated the ants that would be crawling all over them when in bloom
my brother mowed them over every chance he got

that is what I said when it started to come in, this bush dont look right
I have one next true blue Peony plant that I moved from the front to back b/c it couldnt take the wind, but it is slow growing. When it has established its roots this summer I think next yr will be the pay off
but this hybrid thing is pretty but mawga looking

Give the Peonies til next year to look more fuller. I have a Peonie bush but it barely blooms... in too much of a shady spot.
Love Nasturiums! Got a few planted over an edge but the fountain grass on the corner has gotten out of control and complete blocked the nasturiums from view and from full sun.
Lovely plants. I took a galore of pics of my garden but just can't find time to upload them.Comment

SandiF, I feel u are right. I moved 2 bushes and planted these new ones this year, so think they are still in shock a bit. Peonies are a bit on the high maintenance side.
I put them against the garage wall to protect them from the wind that was beating them last year but now I am having issues with the lack of sun too.....the other ones didnt bloom at all.
this is my first yr with Nasturiums. I had no idea they were so evasive. Pretty...but evasive....same with the sweet peas. They were dying off there for a while but got a second wind and are wrapping themselves up my deck
but they re choking off my lilac bushes

The nasturiums. I had some of those this summer, but they were potted. came out real pretty, not as full as yours though. Dead now though as I was away for a few weeks and hubby didnt water.
I think yours are gorgeous! They look great where they are, its just that the smaller plants next to them takes away from it. But I personally think they look great surrouding that deck.

lol!! mi deh ya a look pan dem an a seh mi no know a) peony leaf weh look so; and b) peony weh flower this time a year - i know them to be an early summer bloomer.

the dahlias look nice, despite the lack of leaf.

leff u nasturtium dem alone
dem is quite bodacious and they have come up lovely for u. i have poor luck with them i believe they are runners, so u can train them to climb up string and such. plus the plant is edible. the leaves are peppery, the flower buds can mek capers and the flowers can be used to dress salad.
