I found this place on line River City Yarns and it looks like they sell colourful yarns and such...better selection than Michael's.

It is up the road from me so I will take a look tomorrow for my hot pink yarn

but wait - I have no idea what I am doing. Can I just pick whatever yarn I like, or does it need to be a particular weight etc.?

mi dear Mam, u juss cannot buy wicheva yarn u feel like....di yarn muss meet di gauge requirements of the pattern r else it naw come out good...so u haffi tek texture into account too

show dis to di smaddy eena di store n dem suppose fi lead u right :

so I went to River City Yarn (nice and helpful peeps BTW )

and I showed her what you sent and told her the colour I wanted. The closest I could get is this here:



I got two bundles of the yarn. The lady said this should do for a long cable scarf.

I also spied some really pretty yarns as well




She said that this yarn wouldnt be good for a cable scarf since the colours would hide the pattern but it would be good for a hook and something type pattern I cant remember what she said now. But I thought this yarn would make a beautiful next scarf too if you are willing

neutral colours...is a multi colour pastel so it wi go wid eida sex..but mi tell u seh mi see some today n mi had was fi tawk miself outta buying dem...was killing time in between di chemo sessions an run by the store... Bernat have some new varigated yarns dat mek wat mi using look sooooo pastel dem ha some brite orange, green, pink combo and some oddas dat r to die for...mi a go look pon dem site fi some patterns fi see how mi can use dem...ongle den will i go bak n buy any (fingas n toes crossed )

is a varigated blue, yellow, white etc...pastel wid no colour really dominating...plus mi double di yarn fi give it some heft n warmth ...btw, the pattern gives an option if u want to use it wid a car seat n seat belt...fi some reason dem seh di bottom should not be sew up..mek mi check it again....mite need to knit in button holes so dat u can unbutton wen in a car...mi wi chek di pattern ...mi no knit today

Yeah man, that stuff nah cheap at all Whatever nice pattern you think will be good for the 2nd yarn is fine with me. I will just be happy with any pretty scarf made with it.
