Putting home up for sale

Any tips for putting home up for sale. I want to relocate outside USA. I plan to put my home on the market next month, so far I upgraded kitchen and master bathroom because I heard those are big selling points. The walls are clean, should I have it paint or not?

Since homes are taking longer to sell, any tips on keeping things spotless for the lookers?

Transferring to home & garden

Freshen up by painting the house in neutral colours
remove all clutter including what is in the closets

the home you are selling is no longer yours but for the buyer of your home so must be in a condition where the buyer can picture themselves in it.

dont know how fast you need to sell your house, but in this area where people are here one minute and then across the country or out of the country the next...

House Staging is all the rage and rather affordable...

one ting mi learn pon hgtv, u haffi edit and remove di personal tings - including family photos.

No matter how clean the walls are, fresh paint is a must for any home sale.
It also helps to mask any scents that have permeated the walls, and stimulates the prospective buyers sense of smell.
Nutralize the home. Take down all personal and family pictures or effects.
No Jamaica maps or decorations.

No clutter, make the walls vieable from end to end.
Lots of lights, clean window coverings

Burn scented candles or bake a pastry during the open house
oh and front appeal.. landscape the entrance way. People usually decide on a buy early out.
oh and focus on the Kitchen and bathrooms.

i am addicted to HGTV

they have a couple of shows that feature staging to sell

they do some neat stuff for very little money

sometimes it's hard to see your own house through a buyer's eyes

Foolya, how is the decluttering and staging going? What area are you in now? Did you hire a Real Estate agent to represent you?
