Don't mind small living spaces - cause they're usually <span style="text-decoration: underline">cozy</span> living spaces. Don't mind them except for KITCHENS!!!!!

Memba years and years ago looking at a furnished studio apartment.

You could sit on the bed and stir your pot on the stove.

These ones look nice though...

I think the key to a small kitchen is keeping it organized and with little clutter. That goes for a large kitchen as well . Don't you think that sometimes the large kitchen is less for cooking and food prep and more for entertainment and additional living space? I had a friend who lived in Boston's North End (Italian neighborhood) who had the tiniest kitchen from which she made fabulous food

I am NOT a fan of small kitchens...as a child I remember seeing my mom and grandma quarrel in the kitchen bout dem batty a rub Must be a hereditary thing ...I don't really like people to be in the kitchen while I am in there either so having a large kitchen is not so much about entertaining as it is just having space to move about and work.

No sah! I love a big kitchen. And yes I do like to entertain in mine. I love to be cooking and having people sitn around chatting and laughing and drinking right there. Seems really organic.

I concur Nunya - and no matter where we try to steer our guests they gravitate right back into the kitchen...

Here's another idea on a small kitchen (defined as space =&lt; 150 sq. feet).

They opened up the wall between the kitchen and dining room and extended the kitchen counter design into the dining room.

Of course, even a kitchen with greater square footage can feel small if piles of snacks, dishes, and recipes have taken over the countertops or if the design and décor contribute to a closed-in look rather than an open, airy one. To create a more spacious space—at least the illusion of one—the NKBA recommends using unique storage solutions, mixing natural and ambient lighting, choosing appliances wisely, and adding personalized touches.

absolutely! In today's times the formal space of a dining room is becoming well less formal so it is not unusual to see homes where the kitchen is expanded into the dining room to create a more relaxed feel to the dining experience.

I think excellent organization and prep space is key to any working kitchen.

When we redid our kitchen we moved the sink to the island and by doing so opened up a ton of space in the same sqaure footage and created a much better working/prep space.

These do great in the high real estate districts where every sq foot counts.. I could see it working in the city
