ETSY is pretty much as easy to use as this message board. They make it easy for the regular non computer savvy people to use. Even so, I am enough technically challenged that I still had a pretty hard time at first. Green Biscuit was a great help along with some others when I would get stuck and frustrated big time. Every time it was me not reading the instructions correctly at each step. I found it easier to grasp when I listed several things at one time. The next time, it was easier to just proceed without frustrating errors.

It costs .20 cents US to list each item, ETSY takes a small 3.5%9US) sellers fee.

You will need a camera that will take a decent photo though, but you can get one for 100.00 these days. Just practice with the picture taking and you will soon figure out what looks good. ( I could help guide you with that part too if you would like, the pictures are as important as your work!)

Other than that... it is pretty simple, actually. Especially in your case, where you already have prospective buyers. The venue makes it easy for them to have one of your beautiful creations.

The other thing that goes along with ETSY is a way for your buyers to pay you. For that you need an online service such as a PayPal account. There are other options but at this time PayPal is the most popular.

Setting up PayPal is as easy as posting on this board.

You can also sell your beautiful work in private without listing it on ETSY, while offering an easy way for anyone to pay you worldwide. The transaction then would cost you only the PAYPAL fees

The first step would be to go to the ETSY main page and in the search box type the key words to what you would like to offer.

At first, your search replies might seem overwhelming. a LOT of items. yes, like finding a needle in a haystack it could seem but people do find you and there are tricks to getting found such as joining the forums and key words is the number 1. I don't do the forums, good God when would I create art but you can find a lot of interest in places such as forums related to what you are doing. <span style="font-style: italic">(I have been spotted at glass forums, lol)</span>

I think in your case, you could do very well. I mostly started out with buyers who I had some connection with be it on an art site or whatever...to get the first few sales and the people leave a feedback. Building a beginning feedback is important so then when your merchandise comes up in a search, people can see that others have bought an item from you and are pleased with it.

Well then, people tell their friends and family and they tell their friends and walla, there you go.

I used to sell jewelry on Friday's after work to friends of friends and their friends who would know I was going to be there at a certain time and though that was apples and oranges to what you are doing and what I am doing now, it does have something to say about word of mouth and it's fun to make people happy with things that you make with your heart and soul and hands.

If I was in need of one I would be snapping it up right away! I just inherited a huge pile of blankets, shawls, and the like from my moms things so now I am set for life.
