Steam mops

anyone here have any experience with steam mops? Considering an item like this for wood floors cause I doan like the residue the wood floor cleaners leave behind

i use a floor squeegee with old rags to clean the floors..

i have tried vinegar on the wood floors
De 4 in 1 wood floor cleaner
Bronner

but I think steam may work

I've been using the Shark brand for about 5 years now and love it, love it no residue.

Just water and sometimes I put some Fabablous Lavender in the water.

Use it on my tile and wood floors.

yes i went to a fren place in Jamaica and was commenting how the hardwood floors so nice and shine she tell me is windex dem use. so been using that

it actually works quite well. I don't think i would use it if i had the old time hardwood floors but this pre-finishes stuff has so much polyurethane on it.

I have the Shark steam pocket mop AND the portable steamer. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them!!

I have real oaken wood floors (not laminate) - remember, my house was built and my floors laid in 1941... all throughout my house. I use the Shark on them weekly. The key is, indeed, to <span style="font-weight: bold">keep the mop moving</span> and not let the steam stay in one place on the wood for more than a couple of seconds at the most. And my floors are at <span style="font-style: italic">much higher risk</span> for steam/water damage than yours, Kia, probably are, because the old Varathane is mostly long gone from my floors by now. My oak really needs to be redone, actually... sanded and re-Varathaned. My floors were last Varathane-treated sometime in the mid-1980s -- and remember, we have had so many generations of cats and dogs and turtles and all manner of God's creatures scratching up my oaken floors with their claws since then!

Get the Shark! You'll LOVE it too! But go buy it on Amazon.com - that was the place with the <span style="font-style: italic">rock-bottom best price</span> I found two years ago when I was looking and bought. I bought every attachment and pad for the floor and portable steamers.
