50's at night... that is way too cool. Does that happen all summer long?

Maybe covering them with saran wrap will help.

My sister in NYC had a scotch bonnet plant last year. She kept inside all winter. It thrived, and just as spring came around all the leaves fell off. All she did was put a lamp over it in the daytime. Maybe if you can get something started by late summer, and with a little more care it can work out.

Sprout 3 up and left today, just shriveled up and dead.

I didn't leave them out in the 50° at night, but each night I brought them inside and put them on the hot water heater. 50° at night is the norm here, but we have had a few 60 degree evenings of late. Even then, I brought the plants inside. I wouldn't want to try and risk a Winter growth, since I keep my house at 60 in the day and 50-55 at night and this far north it is very dark..

I was trying to problem solve today with my friend who grows for farmers market and she thinks maybe they were too hot next to a building wall when it is 90°. Or, that too much water, or both. sigh...she has some of the seeds and none has come up yet, but we are still hopeful. I think it was a combination of heat and too much moisture... sniff...

Well, I will keep watering the pot and see if anything more pops up!
