so mi good friend cousin is a contractor - John
im need work so mi offer him some work mrKia was gwine do fi imself

mi haffi pull teef fi get labour cost outa him

im noh work quick like the guy who did the kitchen (white guy whe grow a antigua- Andy)

dis guy everyday want come a mi yawd and mi tiad fi see im already and is one week..

so far im gut the smallest bathroom and put up most of the drywall
tear off the vinyl tile in the laundry room

chat bout how mi kitchen guy neva caulk the trim good.


Now mi know if mi did get Andy (antigua guy) fi dweet, the small bathroom would have been done and the tile done.



We still have a next bath fi do and mi a mek sure the master carpenter will come.. Mi refuse to let dem touch dat bathroom until all the material is in the garage.

John has a minority owned business and hires other black people. His heart is good as gold and mi know im nah rob mi but lawd the timeframe. . John also love to chat & work and between him and madeeks a stop by mi and tun

Pros- He is good at demolition and finishing detail work . His master carpenter is awesome

Cons- im move slow pon non demolition work..

The real issue is that he was bored and sitting by my friend pool and the project got started earlier than I wanted cause mi usually want to have the materials in place.. so dis stop &amp; go business a mad mi too.

John has him well protected plus dem a good friends from dem was a boy so it would be hard to do.-- Mi find out when Master Carpenter (lets call him Roy) a lay de tile, John a cut. So maybe mi will feel betta

john also know a yardie dat is electrical engineer ( we will call him Winston) so will help wid de electrical.

John is also an excellent cook maybe me can divert him to the kitchen to make fish pon de grill whe im catch while Roy a work. win/win

lawd my people my people and imagine im could get more work if dem do the job quick and right.

so far we only had 1 incident that could not have been foreseen but it under control.


John is a man whe mi see all the while and nobady noh badmouth him.. Mi jus feel seh im is a project manager when im nah do demo and backhoe work.. Im heart is good and mi enjoy im company when mi deh by mi frien house but when mi have mi work hat on mi nat dat patient ...so mi guess mi will breathe n and out

Now when the job is done.. i have seen his work and it is awesome is just dat the process goes against my type A personality

yuh #1 mistake was not giving hm a time frame

for ex. john mi fambily coming on ___ date and no ifs and buts about it, the bathroom need to be done by then cause dem nah use mi master bath. (while having the calendar displayed in front a him)

anyting ovah dat date and mi cannot pay for the labour cause mi working on a budget.


my mother had somebody do the guest bathroom, when mi seh the sitten look like likklegen and her cousin dem caulk and tile yuh must know how it look chaka chaka \0/

well im step up him game.. im is definitely a demo and paint guy. Tony (the carpenter) is awesome.. Small bath &amp; laundry still not done but dem a move &amp; a work hard. All floors tiled, grout needed.
Ran into some unforeseen issues (like we have a 4 cement base in the bathroom) and de exterior laundry room door needs to be trimmed a bit.

Dem come back Thursday and mi will see how much get done.

Yes I got a number from him.. but yes mi a de program manager and a manage the tasks and numbers

Laundry room almost done (paint ceiling ting left)

moved on to replace soffits and clean gutters work.. They would have been done yessideh if it was not so blasted hot

Replacing basement windows , would have had 2 in yesterday but had to replace hopper style for glider style.

What they have finished looks very good.

Dem work on a daily rate so now I know what that is, mi can see the value of whe dem a do.

John is at school this week so mi noh haffi hear him chat all day long.. just a couple text messages dat mi can ignore when mi ready

We took off a few weeks cause mi was waiting fi supplies fi come in.. Dem went to work pon madeeks place.. They did an excellent job. John the contractor did seh working wid madeeks is like working in a hazardous environment de way she chat to ar husband and kids

So dem finish de work and come back over here and tings moving along nicely.

Pay a daily rate but mi a get mi $$ worth.. Mi will post before and after pics..
