The traditional New Jersey housewarming gift is a big brown stoneware jug of applejack... either Lairds, or else home-distilled, if you are lucky 'nuf to still own a copper pot still hidden waaaaaay down in the pine barrens. (It's a NJ holdover from Prohibition days... we Jerseyans don't get out from underneath our rocks underneath the stunted pines much. dwl They still have slavery down there, too... and not just black slaves. These days, it's mostly Latin-American slaves and Asians. Most of the blacks finally got up and left, and came up here - to north Jersey, where I live - to freedom.)
Mr Witchy's family still has a copper pot still from Prohibition days hidden down in the Pine Barrens that the Feds never did find... and it still works just fine and dandy!
No one's ever discovered it's hidey hole, in fact. And, like I said, it still makes fine Jersey Lightning! So, applejack being New Jersey's traditional best - shall we bring you some? lol ha ha
Honestly, even the Laird family admits that we make a mighty good applejack!
(no joke, that - ours is based from the same colonial recipe as theirs is, only they've tweaked theirs differently, over the years, than we have tweaked ours, and both recipes are 100% proprietary (no lie - the only non-family member the Lairds ever gave their family applejack recipe to was George Washington! and Mr Witchy's family has never given it to anyone outside of our family - not even a United States President!)... too bad that the Lairds went into business first and so rapidly got such a great brand recognition; it made it next to impossible to break into the market and get a decent share... the Laird family were my father-in-law's clients; he was their legal counsel from the 1930s through the very early 1980s)
Our applejack is slightly sweeter and as a slightly more fresh apple-y taste than their slightly drier applejack has. Theirs has more of a brandy taste to it. After all - applejack (a/k/a "Jersey Lightning") is apple brandy!
So, SamChabs, when we come to Botswana to visit, I'll have to come up with a seriously creative way to sneak in our Jersey Lightning for you! Dunno how that's gonna go... 
Me, to a Customs Agent: "What? What bottle, sir? Oh, that... that bottle is just a decorative bottle, that's all. I know it's not decorative, sir, it's just a plain green bottle, that's how I like my decorative bottles, not fancy, ok? Is it a crime for me to prefer plain decorative bottles to fancy decorative bottles, sir??? So what if I like my decorative bottles plain, instead of fancy decorative bottles?? *I* am the one who's using the plain decorative bottle, aren't I? So what's the big deal, sir? It's just a plain decorative bottle without decoration!"
