So couple years ago mi decide seh mi did a guh plant some bamboo de idea was fi roun a back but mi decide fi put one roun de front.
Last year a pc sprout up next to a japanese maple and den couple months later a nex pc sprout up next tuh de driveway. So all I could see was the original plant and two more sprouts.

You can si de original bamboo and de one nex sprout from last year, but look along de driveway a wah stawt come up from yessideh.

de root did run left and buck up inna one big rockstone and den it mek a right tuen and stawt come up.
Pan de rt it incircle de japanese maple and stawt choke it off suh mi hadwaz fi pull dat out an mi pull out one nex plant tuh fi replant dem again laytah.

in a few a de pics you will si how de root dem gawn undah de driveway till it crack de kawnah a de driveway (mi need fi find some roundup)

You can see how de big devil of a root even guh dung by mi dwarf evergreen ready fi choke out it grasscyaat tuh.

Wow. The Internet is crawling with methods to get rid of bamboo. When you're ready to apply the Roundup, use a paintbrush and dab the cut end of the bamboo.

mi did tell u fram lang time fi use one rhizome barrier when u a plant bamboo.

U fi dig a barrier down 2 1/2 ft, put the 3ft barrier in and leave a few inches out to prevent jumping. The bamboo is a runner so you have to follow the path & dig out the whole runnah.. U noh need roundup fi dat

Edited to add that u dont need chemicals to dig up the bamboo but just some good plant tracking and strong arms

You have to inspect every spring & fall for the runners and dig out dem baxside if they are not where they are supposed to be. They can run farrrrrr
