Dutty stinking dogs in swimming pools

I had never seen this before. I saw it on one of those home shows a couple of days ago and I saw it again on House Hunters International last night.

Why would ANYONE want to take a dutty stinkin' dog in a swimming pool and then swim in it?



Yes dogs need to cool off so why not let them have their own paddling pool or let them run through the sprinklers and have fun?

I wonder if the dog friendly hotels allow dogs in their swimming pools? Do they?

If it's a saline swimming pool, then they might; if it's a chlorine swimming pool, then it's less likely. Bet hotels don't wanna risk getting sued for injuries that chlorine can do to a dog's eyes... but saline is safe enough

The last hotel we brought Midnight to (he was then 18 yrs old) - the PSFS Lowes in center city Philadelphia - would have let Midnight take a dip in the pool after hours - but I would never let any dog of mine in a chlorine pool! (I think they have since stopped that policy for guest dogs, though, after someone did sue for medical bills they claimed were from chlorine in a dog's eyes. The litigant didn't win her case... but that ended it, anyhow. IIRC)
Besides, who knows what kind of germs my well-cared for elderly dog might get from a public pool?! <shudder> I don't go into public pools, and I wouldn't let my dog go into one, either. Some people are vilely filthy!! (On that note, I'm so surprised that you'd willingly use a public pool - honestly! I'd rather chance my health with a healthy and well-kept dog than a human who is not necessarily healthy nor well-kept... and we won't discuss children who piddle - and worse, crap - in swimming pools!)
