when i first watched i got the feeling/vibes that he stressed security based on his wife i.e. she tell him seh she want gated community 
mi haffi guh watch it again though cause i thought she said it was the first time she was leaving texas, suh when she seh dat I remember rolling my eyes and thinking she was a nervous, inexperienced traveller.
now the other family, you can tell they had been there for a while, settled into schools and community, crazy traffic and all
but them sound like seasoned expats that travel all over
