$400 a month/20? days = $20/day ..right?

in florida and georgia rates lower than seh New York or dem other hi faluting place

eta : i did pay bout $150/week tho' for a 3-4 year old..oh that was for half day though

Our children are our most precious commodity so with that in mind we should not hesitate to pay for a good sitter/nanny to take care of them. The way I see it -- sometimes the less you pay is the less care your child will get. I think $30 - $40 for a 10 -13 hour shift is reasonable for a sitter in GA/FLA. You would of course pay more in the north east or CA.

Nope, that's it per day..nothing to supplement the cost. If a did so, it would probably cost $0 fi one pickney...

My friend takes her 3 kids to daycare and she has Family assistance program an shi pay mussi $18/week for them

The average rate fi daycare 0-3 down here is $125-$200..

the la petite's and dem one day will be closer to 200

the church daycare dem will be cheap too especially if u a member..

but majority a dem stuck roun de 125-135 rate...so bruck dat dung by day and das basically $25

anyways carry on

Yep, 125-200 here too for independently owned Daycare's. Franchises are a little cheaper. I am supposed to get Daycare Assistance through the State Adoption Program so that they pay $105 and I pay $20 a week out of pocket. I got approved in September but have not seen reimbursement yet.

Then I recently found out that the Daycare has still been getting paid from the state for Foster care Daycare assistance AND receiving payments from me. Double dipping by charging the state under Kimmy's birth name and I pay her under her Adopted name. They wrote me to say she is being cut off unless I get her recertified. I had no idea she was doing that because she told me the payments had stopped. I wondered why she stopped talking to me.

So far I have not heard from Little Miss or her Mom on what they will be charging me. I am leaning towards $20-$25 a day but whatever we can agree on is fine with me. Like St. Bess said, they are our most precious beings and are worth the cost. Some people just get outrageous because we need them though. I won't pay extravagant prices though.

I think y'all prices up north are waaay more. cause mi recall hearing some relatives a complain couple yrs ago that daycare was dam near as much as dem mortgage \o/

an smaddy else on here did ask bout daycare prices and de rates u northerners were quoting was outrageous

mi juss did waan ask har wah mek when she done she cant clean up after harself. if she come har hair inna the bathroom she leff hair inna the sink. sigh mi nuh do dem tings deh when mi deh people yard, not even mi madda yard mi do that

Yeah I hope it works out. Her Mom says she's excited about doing it. She has her Babysitting certificate but has not had a chance to use it. I asked her because I observed that she does not really hang out on Sundays. Her and Mom will stay at home like Kimmy and I and occasionally step out for a few hours. This will not be on the regular. I only work every now and again on Sunday's and the night care will be the same.

As far as her being too young, there are some 14 year olds here that are Mothers already. That's way too young but it happens and they have to give up a lot more than Sundays. At Kimmy's age, it will be more like watching a baby sister if she had one. And of course, Mom said she will always be there. We are going to Chuckie Cheese today to let the girls meet. I've already told Kimmy she will have a new sitter and she said, &quot;Ok Mommy&quot;.

Well I talked to the Mom and we decided that for the teen to watch Kimmy on Sunday's will be $20 and for 2-3 hours or so at night she will get $10. I believe this to be fair and Mom agrees. That's a relief.

The girl is very bright. She started school at 3 and will graduate at 17 instead of 18. So Kimmy can also get some help with flash cards and such. She's excited to have a job with pocket money for her and her Mom thinks this will &quot;help&quot; get her ready for a part time after school job when she's ready.
