are any of these young men over the age of 18? If not Mark's mom still has a legal responsibility for her son and if Jamie's mom wanted to take Mark in (so as Mark can finish the semester at least) Jamie's mom is acting in the long term interest in keeping Mark on track.

Mark's mom kicked the boy out of the house so really has nothing to say to Jamie's mom of contravening her parental measures. If Mark's mom was truly moving Mark out, she would have taken him down to the hostel downtown herself. Mark found a place to stay and it happened to be with Jamie's.

Now that being said, why did Mark get kicked out of the house?

IF she kicks out her kid out of her house, she is saying that she is no longer responsible for HIM, so why on god's green earth does SHE think, she now has a right to say where mark lives/sleep

let's just say hypothetically that mark madda had contacted child services (provided he is still not at the age of majority), even then she most likely would not have a choice of where he would be living/sleeping. at that age it might be a group home and even then she still a seh she not response fi him.

suh how on earth ( mi still a laugh) does she think that she can tell jamie's mother NOT to tek in mark

If someone kicks you out of their house, they're not going to take you to another

Mark is 17. I believe that his mother threw him out of the house to 'teach him a lesson', but as to what he's done to predicate this - no one is saying...

I am guessing that she prolly meant for him to find it so hard out there (with the winter and him being broke) that he'd come back humbler. Jamie's mom has sort of spoilt the plan.

She's feeling really guilty and wanted to know if she'd made the right decision. When he was at her doorstep, it was a no-brainer. But with the guilt trip that Mark's mom's laid on her, she's having second thoughts.

Mark's mom wanted to know how would Jamie's mom like it if someone meddled in the way she was raising her kid.

Jamie is a 'good boy' and so his mom thinks that maybe she just doesn't have the insight needed to understand Mark's mom (who says that Mark is a very difficult 'child').

I don't think anyone wants to admit to learning anything. One's intent on laying blame and the other is now ducking for cover. In the middle is Mark - and he may end up being the loser...

well i totally agree with whoever said when she booted him out, she lost all control over the situation....also any right to prevent him from finding his own path.

i think his mom is meddling...not the compassionate woman who is helping him.

but Mark's mom threw him out - what if he went to a hostel and then got hooked up with some prostitution ting fi mek a living -- if Jamie's mom did not take him in and Mark did do that is that the lesson she wanted him to learn?

and how is Mark a difficult child? does he challenge her and is not complacently obedient? ones difficult child is another's creative joy.

me thinks Jamie's mom need fi tell Mark's mom that the lesson Mark is learning is that there is a circle/village who will help guide him to where he needs to be.

Mark's mother sounds embarrassed more than anything

I would like to think that if mi get vex enough with my kids to dare to kick dem out dat way and dem go to a friend house that mi would be happy dem is safe and work it out so my kid understands what he needs to do to become a productive citizen of the world.

i just cannot wrap my head around mark's mother logic. If another parent had taken in Mark, would she also have chastised them for interfering with her parenting skills ?

what if the boy had went to a shelter ? would she also have rang up the shelter and told them the same thing ?

for mark's mother, are there varying degrees of "homelessness/bleak outlook" ? and she want him fi suffer what's on the very bottom rung ?

if jamie's family had been living under a bridge, would that have been more acceptable for them to take in mark ?

Funny, but this is what Jamie's mom said to me. She'd kicked her oldest out of her house once she said, and his friends mom called her up to let her know that he was at her house. They kept that info between them. The kid showed up at door three days later thinking his mom didn't know where he'd been but acted contrite. She let him back in and didn't let on that she'd known where he'd spent the past 2 nights.

I guess she really believes that no one should interfere with the way she's raising her kid. I dunno...

Good questions you've asked and sadly, I think that she would still not be happy if Jamie's family was living under a bridge and gave Mark shelter, or that he'd managed to get into a hostel.

The weather here is so bloody cold and miserable. All hostels/shelters etc, was reported full. I think, when they had the fight and she kicked him out and slammed the door (that much we got from him cause he doesn't have his key and was wearing just a hoodie) she expected that he prolly would've gone to the local coffee shop, maybe a friend's house to play video games but that he would be back knocking before long...

The fact is, she never went looking for him. He spent the first night at Jamie's house before Jamie's mom was able to get through to her the next day. Then she blew her stack. Jamie's mom had left a message, but Mark's mom had apparently not retrieved it.

Anyway, Jamie's mom is very non-confrontational. And the whole thing is starting to stress her out. Mark's mother is calling every bloody hour it now seems, to leave really sharp messages.

Jamie's mom wants out of the situation, but she doesn't know how. Mark's mother's last message was that Mark should be shown the door after school tomorrow and that Jamie's mom should now mind her own business.

The weather is going to be flipping cold over the next few days, so it's out of the question. But Jamie's mom is thinking that she may have an ulcer already ~lol~.
