o wow, thanks for all the advice. she didn't do the ice on sunday, but she took ibuprofen. we didn't do the anbesol, due to the dissenting feedback.
i didn't tell her about the carrot, but i told her about the gargling with salt and she made up her face. so no go on that.
i'll tell her about the cloves (we have lots of those) and the mini-ice packs, though, but i really don't expect her to do anything with those, she'll just keep popping pills and eating on the other side of her mouth.
the dentist has told her the wisdom tooth is growing into her nearby tooth (i had the same problem), but i told her it's better to let it crack the surface of the gum before we consider extraction.
o - the latex glove thing i'll mention but i think she'll just feel silly doing it (though, as i said above, she did ask for a chew toy/teething ring).
haven't read the responses. from personal experience, i will beg you to get them out. her mouth is too small for those teeth. trust me on this. i'm still having fallout from impacted wisdom teeth becauze ... well long story.
but, to spare her, please have them removed. when i could finally afford to have the surgery myself i had them done and even then it was mighty painful caz for some reason i have long corkscrew roots.
going for more surgery on tuesday on issues related to the way no longer existing wisdom teeth. please!!! it's like a house of cards.
remember, pain is always a symptom of something wrong. my prayers for your daughter.
