saying I love you in the morning in addition to the evening
making sure they get their hugs
listening more when I am busy - instead of the 'uh-hum' -- they have caught on to that one

Have a *you* day
Spending one on one time I think is important. Ask each kid, spouse, brother, sister, etc. what they want to do on their "all about you" day or half day.
It is interesting to see what they come up with. Sometimes it is something so simple like an ice cream cone, a drive in the country just so they can hang out with you. They feel like they had your undivided attention for a period of time and that can get them thru times when you are busy.Comment
